Mario Ruiz-Tagle appointed new Enerclub president

The Spanish Energy Club (Enerclub) has ratified the appointment of Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola Spain, as the new President of the organisation for the next two years.

In his speech to the new Enerclub board of directors, Mario Ruiz-Tagle highlighted the main lines of work proposed by the association. The first of these focuses on making the association a "multi-sector and regional benchmark in the energy debate" by increasing collaborations and activities with other sectors, as well as promoting regional initiatives together with regional and local administrations.

The second line is aimed at boosting active participation and rapprochement with the European and international energy sphere, taking advantage of the Spanish presidency of the European Union scheduled for the second half of 2023.

In addition, Enerclub will seek to implement internal actions to help consolidate the association's openness. "We assume our new responsibilities in a difficult situation, with the climate crisis, the conflict in Ukraine, inflation and the high prices of raw materials occupying the front pages of the newspapers every day. These challenges once again show that the energy transition is one of the main solutions to all of them," Ruiz-Tagle emphasised.
