The agreement, which will be valid for three years, was signed by Marcos Mateos, Dean of the Association of Industrial Engineers, and Guillermo Raga, i-DE's Area Manager in the Region of Murcia.

The agreement establishes the implementation of joint actions that contribute to promoting the energy transition through the electrification of the most polluting sectors, the promotion of energy efficiency, the integration of renewable energies, with special emphasis on the development of self-consumption, as well as the study of the development of new functionalities of the electricity distribution network External link, opens in new window. and the dissemination and promotion of energy saving and sustainable consumption.

Marcos Mateos stressed that this type of collaboration "reflects the commitment of the Association of Industrial Engineers to the environmental principles of the European Union. In addition, it is very important for our members because it allows us to collaborate in the administrative streamlining procedures because there will be direct communication with the project managers, so that we can shorten the deadlines".

For his part, Guillermo Raga stresses the importance of "working together with all those involved in the change of energy model in order to continue making progress in the electrification of the economy and the decarbonisation of those sectors in which it is already possible to change to more efficient and sustainable production systems. From i-DE we will continue to collaborate with the group of industrial engineers to provide them with the advice of our technicians and whatever they may require in relation to the distribution network".

Increasing coordination

The agreement will lead to the creation of a working group that will promote the coordination of the parties in the development and implementation of the transition to a sustainable energy model, especially with regard to the electrification of industry, the implementation of renewable energies and self-consumption.

Both parties plan to organise dissemination sessions, both externally and internally, to deal with technical aspects related to access and connection to the grid of self-consumption photovoltaic installations, the regulatory aspects of this and the processing of applications.
