Iberdrola España and the National Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (A3E) join forces to decarbonise Spain
- With this agreement, both organisations open up a new phase of work together for efficient energy management and sustainability.
- Initiatives will also be aimed at promoting and boosting Energy Saving Certificates (ESC).
Iberdrola España and the National Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (A3E) together will promote measures in efficient energy management and sustainability and Energy Saving Certificates (ESC) in Spain.
With this agreement, Iberdrola España joins A3E as a Protector Member. The organisation represents more than 125 companies that cover the entire value chain of sustainable energy management and has 15 years of experience. It aims to support the actions, projects, conferences and events carried out by the association in favour of the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy.
The energy transition and independence from fossil fuels is today a priority in our society and the business fabric has a fundamental role to play in the coming years to meet the ambitious objectives committed to, both at national, European and international level.
To help companies meet these objectives, Iberdrola España and Balantia have launched a platform that designs emission reduction roadmaps, which, in addition to improving the CO2 footprint, will also lead to economic savings by directly impacting energy efficiency.
Net Zero Emissions Manager (NZE Manager) identifies the highest impact actions and provides compliance-focused dashboards. In addition, it dynamically monitors progress against targets and manages data from equipment inventories, invoices and asset profiles. NZE Manager also pre-calculates ESCs and enables full management of the process for converting savings to CAEs.
With the energy saving certificates (ESCs), Iberdrola España gives a direct discount on the purchase price. For an aerothermal system for companies, a customer can benefit from a direct rebate of up to 20% on the initial investment.
The platform will reach a customer base of more than 45,000 companies by 2024, making it one of the most widely used tools in Europe in number of users and volume of decarbonisation actions.
A3E promotes the visibility of companies or organisations in any sector that are carrying out projects and investments in energy efficiency and renewable energies and that are committed to sustainability and the fight against climate change.
Both organisations share a common vision on sustainability, improving the competitiveness of the business fabric and the fight against climate change, where energy efficiency, together with renewable energies, are essential elements that also contribute to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, the European framework’s demanding sustainability standards and the challenges posed by the 2030 Agenda.
"Businesses have a key role to play on the road to decarbonisation. If we want to meet the emission reduction targets, the private sector, public entities and the public itself must join forces and be part of the energy transition. At Iberdrola España, we offer comprehensive solutions and support our customers in their emission reduction goals. Joining forces with A3E, a prestigious entity when it comes to promoting sustainability, is another step towards meeting this important challenge", said Luis Buil, Director of Smart Solutions at Iberdrola España.
"A3E was born 15 years ago as a non-profit with the clear purpose of working for more efficient energy consumption and for a new energy model that improves the sustainability and competitiveness of our economy. It is a source of satisfaction to have this partnership with Iberdrola to join forces and continue working on this purpose that unites us all", said Ginés Ángel García, president of A3E.
