Iberdrola España and WOMEN LAB BILBAO bring together 200 female Basque managers in a conference on 'Women and Mental Health'
More than 200 female executives and managers from the most important companies in the Basque Country took part yesterday in a meeting on 'Women and Mental Health', organised by WOMEN LAB BILBAO with Iberdrola España.
WOMEN LAB BILBAO is a space to connect, share and grow the talent of women working in the Basque Country. There are already 500 female executives and managers participating in various initiatives, networks, meetings and conferences to promote the careers of female Basque professionals.
This new meeting, held in the Torre Iberdrola Auditorium, was presented by Laura Ruiz Andrino, founder of WOMEN LAB BILBAO, and was attended by: Ana González-Pinto, Professor of Psychiatry, Head of Service at the University Hospital of Álava and Scientific Director at the Centre for Biomedical Research in the Mental Health Network (CIBERSAM); Ainhoa Oyarbide, Branding and Communication Director at Eroski; and Desirée Vila, Paralympic athlete and Iberdrola España ambassador, as part of the company's support for sport practised by women.
The partnership between Iberdrola España and WOMEN LAB BILBAO began in March 2023 with the presentation of the project. Since then, together they have organised three events at Torre Iberdrola, covering topics such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence, women's sport and mental health.
Support for these initiatives is part of Iberdrola España's commitment to equality, which is also manifested in its support for sport played by women. Since 2016, the company has been the main promoter of women's sport in Spain. It already supports 32 national federations, advocating for more than 600,000 federated women, and has more than 100 competitions named after Iberdrola España, including 32 leagues. The company has also been sponsoring women's football in Brazil since 2021 through its subsidiary Neoenergia, in the United Kingdom since 2023 through Scottish Power, and in Portugal starting this year.
