I-DE, Iberdrola España's distribution company, trains Forest Rangers of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa to act in situations where there is electrical risk
- Around thirty workers from the Territory's forestry service will receive information on the risks in the vicinity of electrical installations.
Iberdrola España's Prevention Service and staff from the Gipuzkoa Area of i-DE, Iberdrola España's distribution company, in coordination with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, today gave the first of two technical seminars on risks in and around electrical installations to around thirty forest rangers from the Forestry Service to protect them while doing their firefighting, aid, rescue and community protection work.
During the conference, explanations were given on how to identify the different electrical installations, their typology, basic concepts of electricity, how electrical current affects the human body, as well as the risks and prevention methods to mitigate them. Around 30 forest rangers will take part in the two days programme.
The issues specifically addressed during the two sessions will be:
- Description of electrical hazards, consequences and precautions
- Precautions in the vicinity of electrical installations
- Acting in scenarios with electrical risk
- Identification of electrical installations
- I-DE work on electrical installations
By participating in this type of initiative, Iberdrola España once again demonstrates its commitment to the safety of people and protecting the environment, with the ultimate aim of making forest rangers aware of the electrical risk invisible to the untrained eye so that they can adequately protect themselves and the environment.
This training session is part of the agreement signed between i-DE and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa on preventing and putting out forest fires around electrical installations.
