Iberdrola España and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers join forces to drive decarbonisation in Spain

• With this agreement both organisations open a new phase of joint collaboration to work towards efficient energy management and sustainability.

  Iberdrola España joins the Spain Chapter of the ASHRAE Sponsorship Programme in the new category of Sustainability Sponsor.

Iberdrola España and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers  (ASHRAE) will promote common initiatives that contribute to the development of sustainable practices and improve energy efficiency through technological innovation to combat climate change and promote a more sustainable planet.

Forty per cent of Europe's emissions come from fossil fuel home heating. This partnership aims to drive the transition to renewable energy.

Both organisations share essential values, providing key factors for development, such as innovation, a global benchmark presence and a commitment to continuous growth and contribution to a fairer world.

ASHRAE Spain Chapter is the official chapter of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers) in Spain and aims to spread in Spain ASHRAE's mission to promote human well-being and a more sustainable world through technological proposals and activities that favour the development of arts and sciences in the field of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration applied to buildings. Through study, research, standards development and publication, and ongoing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow's built environments today.  

Iberdrola España has been committed to electrification for years with different lines of business and work that encourage savings at home, but also improve the planet’s sustainability.

Compared to traditional boilers, aerothermal energy, as a renewable energy source, avoids combustion and its associated emissions, while at the same time achieving savings of up to 70% in energy in the case of underfloor heating and up to 40% in the case of radiators. In addition, this technology is safer as it eliminates the need for storage and dependence on fuel.

In the same way, heat pumps, or the electrification of domestic hot water or air conditioning, contribute to much more economical and profitable comfortable homes, in which your investment can be amortised in a short period of time.
