Noemí Valiente, new head of Iberdrola España's Ávila Sector

i-DE, Iberdrola España's distribution company, has appointed Noemí Valiente as the new Ávila Sector Manager. Iberdrola España thus reinforces its presence in this key province for the development of its business strategy, based on the deployment of smarter electricity grids and the promotion of new electricity consumption models, such as sustainable mobility and self-consumption.
Noemí Valiente, Civil Engineer from the University of Salamanca and Master in High Voltage electrical infrastructures, has spent most of her professional career at Iberdrola España. From 2001 to 2004 she worked at Iberinco, which was once the Group's engineering company, in the Hydraulic Engineering and Dam Regulation Department. In 2004 he joined the Liberalized Business in the area of management and innovation of the Technical Service for the Operation of Large Dams. Subsequently, in 2014, he took charge of the Large Dams Technical Service for the Tagus basin. In 2020 she joined i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, as head of Maintenance of the distribution network in Ávila and province and recently took over as head of the sector.

In recent years, the company has undertaken an ambitious plan to digitize its electricity grids, where it has converted its more than 1.5 million meters in the region and the infrastructure that supports them into smart meters, incorporating remote management, supervision and automation capabilities.
The digitization of the electricity distribution grid will enable more information to implement additional energy efficiency and sustainability measures, in a way that is committed to ambitious and urgent climate action. The deployment of the smart grid makes it possible to respond to new models of grid use and offer a better service to citizens.
