EQUALITY THROUGH MUSIC

At Iberdrola España, we promote music as a tool to foster gender equality

At Iberdrola España, we believe that music can be a powerful tool for achieving gender equality. This is proven by our actions.

Proud to be driving Spotify Equal Fest in Spain

In Spain, only one in five music artists on Spotify is a woman. A reality that shows how much we still need to do to give more visibility to the immense female talent that exists in our country. Iberdrola España wants to contribute to making equality between men and women a reality in the music industry as well.

Iberdrola HerEnergy is an initiative of the Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola Spain forms part, which seeks to give greater impetus to female professionals in different sectors to promote equality. In its first year, in the field of music, we

have collaborated with Spotify to promote the Spotify EQUAL Fest in Spain, the platform's first live music concert, which was held on 22 September 2023 at the WiZink Center in Madrid. Artists Nathy Peluso, Ptazeta, Natalia Lacunza, Judeline and Lola Indigo took the stage to prove that the best music knows no gender.

At the end of December, Spotify EQUAL organised an awards ceremony to recognise the best female musicians, producers and women in the industry, and the ceremony was also supported by Iberdrola España.

Iberdrola Music in Spain, the largest sustainable cultural space in Europe

The boost to Spotify EQUAL Fest 2023 was not Iberdrola Spain's first action to promote change through music. In July 2023, we inaugurated Iberdrola Music, the largest sustainable space in Europe dedicated to leisure and culture. With 185,000 square metres and capacity to host more than 100,000 people, the new artistic area is located in the Villaverde district of Madrid.

This new sustainable leisure space reinforces our commitment to the fight against climate change. Through the complete electrification of the stages with 100% renewable energy, we contribute to reducing the emission of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere without renouncing the great festivals and events.

In 2024, the Iberdrola Music space will once again host the Mad Cool festival, which will be held on 10, 11, 12 and 13 July.
