We obtain prior administrative authorization and move forward with the Peralta photovoltaic plant

  • The new plant in the region of Navarre will have a capacity of 370 MW, will generate enough clean energy to supply 163,000 homes per year and will prevent the emission of 77,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
  • The construction of this renewable facility, with an investment of €240 million, is expected to involve up to 800 professionals in the project during peak periods.
  • The project, which has also recently obtained the environmental green light (DIA), involves the installation of 686,070 photovoltaic modules and reinforces Iberdrola España's commitment to Navarre.

Iberdrola España has obtained prior administrative authorization (AAp) for the development of the photovoltaic project in the Navarre town of Peralta, declared of Regional Interest. It has also recently obtained the environmental green light with a favorable environmental impact statement (EIS).

With an investment of €240 million, the construction of this photovoltaic plant, with more than 686,000 modules, will have an important local component. Specifically, the Basque company INGETEAM will be in charge of manufacturing at its Sesma plant in Navarra. Up to 800 professionals are expected to be involved in the project during peak periods.

The photovoltaic project has resolved the connection of the evacuation line to the 400 kV Castejón substation (ST). The project will also have a regional vision, as Iberdrola España aims to contract local suppliers for the production of the different components or to carry out its electrical infrastructures.

With this new plant, Iberdrola España reinforces its commitment to Navarra by locating the renewable facility in the municipalities of Peralta and Andosilla.

DEVELOPMENT OF CLEAN ENERGY AND TRANSFORMATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL FABRIC IN NAVARRE

In Navarra, the company operates the Cavar wind power complexExternal link, opens in new window. , with an installed capacity of 111 MW, which involved 200 professionals in its development and generated purchases from suppliers for more than €80 million, many of them from nearby municipalities and regions. Cavar generates enough energy to supply a population equivalent of 46,500 homes/year and avoids the emission of 84,000 t CO2/year into the atmosphere.

A NEW ENERGY LANDSCAPE THAT FIXES POPULATION IN RURAL AREAS

Iberdrola España promotes renewable energies as a driver for rural development and in this way the villages emerge as a guarantee for the future. This is the case of the villages of Navarre, where Iberdrola España will contribute to sustainable recovery, enabling the creation of local employment.

In addition, the company has fully integrated the conservation of ecosystem biodiversityExternal link, opens in new window.  into its strategy, demonstrating that the supply of clean and sustainable competitive energy can effectively coexist with environmental balance
