Iberdrola España today held one of its traditional tributes to its ex-employees, this time in Castilla y León. On this occasion, the company brought together more than 35 employees who have been with the company for 25 and 40 years, or who have retired over the past year.
At the meeting were attendees from the different provinces of the region, as well as professionals from Asturias, Cáceres, Lugo and Orense, whom the director of Human Resources in Spain, Álvaro Murga, thanked for their long-term dedication and commitment to the company. "It’s an important day for all of us. Iberdrola España would like to pay tribute to those of you who have dedicated a large part of your lives to this important activity for society", he said.
"We have built a world leader and, most importantly, we have created a big family. Today Iberdrola España is the second-largest power company in the world in terms of market capitalisation, and is the leading electricity company in Europe. Over the years you have been the true protagonists of Iberdrola España's growth and success story", he continued.
The honourees were accompanied by Iberdrola España executives, including the CEO of i-DE (Iberdrola España's distributor in the region), Eva Mancera, the head of hydroelectric generation at Cuenca Sil, Miguel Ángel López, the director of i-DE, Óscar Villanueva, and the Iberdrola España representative in Castilla y León, Miguel Calvo.
The professionals received a memento for their years of dedication to Iberdrola España. Current employees who had been with the company for 25 years in 2023 were given a silver caravel, while employees who had been with the company for 40 years received a watch. Those who retired last year also received a watch along with a commemorative plate.
The tributes began today in Castilla y León, and the company will also be holding them in Bilbao, Valencia and Madrid as a way for the group to recognise the professionals who have contributed to Iberdrola España's growth and expansion.
