The future of mobility under debate with Iberdrola España at the third Global Mobility Call

  • The company repeats as Global Partner of the event, where some of its top executives will address strategies to reduce emissions in transport and the challenges of electrification



Iberdrola España, aware that mobility plays a leading role in global warming as it is responsible for 75% of CO2 emissions, will present solutions and strategies to make this sector more sustainable and achieve its decarbonisation goals at this third Global Mobility Call, organised by IFEMA MADRID with Smobhub from 19 to 21 November. 

Iberdrola España, with more than 8,000 charging points in operation, has the most extensive public charging network in the country. In the private sector, it has more than 40,000 recharging points, between its business network, where it offers turnkey products from design, installation, maintenance and management of recharging points, and its home network, where it stands out for having the most competitive tariff in the industry, so drivers can cover 1,000 km for €5. The company also already recharges more than 600 electric buses in Spain and Portugal daily and expects to continue helping to decarbonise more vehicles in the coming months.

The energy company, which is supporting the Global Mobility Call as a Global Partner, will have a 100-square-metre stand in the GMC Expo space where it will showcase all its Smart solutions to make mobility a more sustainable industry, ranging from home charging points to on-street high-power service sites, as well as other innovative solutions. The company will also showcase its charging solutions for buses and trucks at its stand. 

Iberdrola España's presence at the Global Mobility Call will be highlighted by different mobility-related debates. At the GMC Congress space, the Iberdrola Group's Director of Mobility, Jorge Muñoz, will speak on Wednesday 20 November at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Auditorium at the conference "Driving the Electric Future: Solutions in times of uncertainty", organised by the company, with the participation of Marta Serrano Balbuena, Secretary General of Land Transport, Arancha Garcia Hermo, Industry and Environmental Director of the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers’ Association, and Antonio García Pastor, Chairman of the UITP Global Bus Committee.

In the same space, on 21 November at 10:50 a.m., the company will present the challenges of electrifying heavy transport at the "Decarbonisation of heavy transport: Milestones hit and ahead" round table, with the participation of Laura López, head of urban mobility, EMT Valencia, MAN Truck & Bus Iberia, the Spanish Shippers' Association, Primafrío and Iberdrola | bp pulse

In addition, Isabel Gómez Bernal, Senior Analyst of Prospective Energy, will speak at the panel "Renewable Routes: The Role of Clean Energy in Modern Transport" on 19 November, Héctor Arto, Head of Talent Acquisition, will participate on 20 November in "Green Moves: CHROs on Employee Mobility, Sustainability, and Corporate Success", on the same day, Carlos Pérez Villegas, Head of Domestic Recharging and Strategic Agreements, will present his vision at the table "Charging Ahead: Overcoming the Barriers to Electrification". Finally, Jorge Muñoz will also take part in a panel discussion organised by EMT Madrid.
