The Guardia Civil visit Iberdrola España's facilities at the Alcántara hydroelectric power station

Iberdrola España, within the framework of the Coopera programme and as part of the meetings held by the Command's coordination groups, has opened one of the facilities it owns in the basin of the Tagus river as it passes through Cáceres to a group of members of the Guardia Civil in Extremadura.
A conference was held which culminated in various activities that complement the training on how these facilities operate and which will undoubtedly result in their improved safety.
Iberdrola España's Head of Hydroelectric Management for the Tagus Basin, Adela Barquero, the heads of the facility, Javier Caballero and Juan Luis Acosta, and the Head of Operations of Iberdrola España's Corporate Safety Department, Laureano Arias, accompanied the group, which included the head of the Extremadura Area, division general José Manuel Santiago, the chief colonel of the Badajoz Command, José María Martínez Rangel, the chief lieutenant colonel of the Cáceres Command, Rafael Roldán Parra, the Cáceres commander in charge of the Personnel and Support Headquarters, Aurora Vicente, as well as civil guards from the Cáceres and Badajoz Command and the Valencia de Alcántara Company.
During their tour of the facilities, the Guardia Civil officers were given explanations about the operation of the dam and the hydroelectric plant, as well as the security systems that the company has installed.
By participating in this type of initiative, Iberdrola España demonstrates its commitment to training, prevention and the responsibilities arising from its activities in the areas where it operates.
