We get the environmental green light for the development of the Peralta photovoltaic project

Iberdrola has obtained a favourable Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the development of the photovoltaic project in the Navarre town of Peralta, declared to be of Regional Interest.

  • The new plant, which will be built in the region of Navarre and will have a capacity of 370 MW, will generate enough clean energy to supply 163,000 homes per year and will prevent the emission of 77,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
  • The construction of this renewable facility, with an investment of €240 million, will generate significant local employment - Up to 800 professionals are expected to be involved in the project during peak periods.
  • With this project, in which 686,000 photovoltaic modules will be installed, Iberdrola reinforces its commitment to Navarre.

Iberdrola has obtained a favourable Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the development of the photovoltaic project in the Navarre town of Peralta, declared to be of Regional Interest.

This new solar energy production facility, which will have a capacity of 370 megawatts (MW), will generate enough clean energy to supply 163,000 homes per year and prevent the emission of 77,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

With an investment of €240 million, the construction of this photovoltaic plant, with more than 686,000 modules, will have an important local component. Specifically, the Basque company INGETEAM will be in charge of manufacturing at its Sesma plant in Navarre. Up to 800 professionals are expected to be involved in the project during peak periods.

The photovoltaic project has resolved the connection of the evacuation line to the 400 kV Castejón substation (ST). The project will also have a regional vision as Iberdrola aims to contract local suppliers for the production of the different components or to carry out its electrical infrastructures.

With this new plant, Iberdrola reinforces its commitment to Navarre by locating the renewable facility in the municipalities of Peralta and Andosilla.

Development of clean energy and transformation of the industrial fabric in Navarre

In Navarre, the company operates the Cavar wind farm complexExternal link, opens in new window. , with an installed capacity of 111 MW, which involved 200 professionals in its development and generated purchases from suppliers for more than €80 million, many of them from nearby municipalities and regions. Cavar generates enough energy to supply a population equivalent of 46,500 homes/year and prevents the emission of 84,000 t CO2/year into the atmosphere.

A new energy landscape that maintains population in rural areas

Iberdrola promotes renewable energies as a driver of rural development and in this way the villages emerge as a guarantee for the future. This is the case of the villages of Navarre, where Iberdrola will contribute to sustainable recovery, enabling the creation of local employment.

In addition, the company has fully integrated the conservation of ecosystem biodiversity into its strategy, demonstrating that the supply of clean and sustainable competitive energy can effectively coexist with environmental balance.
