Iberdrola España joins forces with the French giant Air Liquide to electrify its industrial production in the country
- The French industrial gas multinational signs a power purchase agreement with the electricity company for 25 MW of renewable projects
Air Liquide has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Iberdrola España for 25 MW of wind projects in northern Spain to electrify its operations in both northern Spain and Portugal.
This partnership is the result of a close collaboration between Iberdrola España and Air Liquide, which will allow the French giant to continue developing innovative and sustainable solutions for industrial gas supply.
The agreement will also enable the French company's customers to meet their carbon footprint reduction targets associated with their end products.
Sergio Hernández de Deza, Director of Large Customers and PPAs at Iberdrola España, said: “Iberdrola España and Air Liquide share a commitment to deliver a cleaner and more competitive future. Companies have an increasingly important role to play in ensuring that the energy transition and the electrification of the industrial sector continue to make progress. Agreements like this one are critical to support the new renewable energy capacity that's being built.”
