Solar community in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid)

Colmenar Viejo (Madrid) will have its first solar community thanks to Iberdrola España's installation of a photovoltaic solar system on the roof of the company Tableros Huertas. In this way, more than 100 families will be able to start saving on their electricity bills by benefiting from consuming power they have generated themselves without the need for their own installation or investment.

Solar communities are a form of community self-consumption that allows users to share the 100% sustainable energy generated from a single photovoltaic installation installed within a maximum of two kilometres from their home.

The installation will have around 150 panels and a total power of 66 kW, enough to produce 100 MWh per year, which will prevent the release of more than 545 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere over the next 30 years.

The 100 families in Colmenar Viejo who join the solar community will be able to save up to 30% on their bills by consuming part of the power produced by this installation.

For more information about the installation, please call 622 43 28 38 or go to the Colmenar Viejo Customer Service Office on at Calle Marqués de Santillana 7, 28770, Colmenar Viejo.

Leader in self-consumption marketing

As part of its commitment to accelerating the energy transition, Iberdrola España not only promotes self-consumption by encouraging it to be fed into the energy system through its grids, but also leads the customer management market for this type of energy in Spain.

Iberdrola España, a pioneer in offering self-consumption for customers with single-family homes, has adapted to different needs to make solar self-consumption available to all its customers through its new Smart Solar solutions.

More than two thirds of the population in Spain today lives in high-rise buildings. For this segment, the energy company offers group self-consumption alternatives that include the possibility of ceding the roof space to Iberdrola España so that it can install the photovoltaic system, allowing people who live nearby to use the green energy generated.

Iberdrola España customers can make use of the Solar Cloud service to offset the energy fed into the grid, even over the energy term or gas price or divert it to use at another residence.
