This is how the La Magdalena wind farm in Burgos bids farewell to the day. Spectacular images of this Iberdrola renewable energy facility, located in the north of the province, covered in a blanket of white, can be seen from the sky by drone at sunset.
Despite heavy snowfalls, storms and the setbacks they can cause, thanks to the constant work of a great team that guarantees an essential service, generating energy and bringing it to millions of homes and companies, the professionals of the Iberdrola Group bring the best energy from the wind, with snow, fog or cold, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In 2004, Iberdrola commissioned the La Magdalena wind farm in the province of Burgos, in the Merindad de Valledor’s, comprising 28 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 23.8 MW, whose average annual production enables it to supply clean energy to a population equivalent of more than 13,000 homes.
Renewables form a symbiosis with nature and bring life to the rural world, as in this wind farm, which produces clean energy in a unique natural environment.
Iberdrola reinforces its commitment to Castilla y León, which is consolidating its position as an important centre for renewable energy developments in the company's investment cycle to 2025, where it already operates more than 5,150 MW, making it the autonomous community with the most 'green' megawatts installed by the company.
The wind that has been moving Iberdrola for 20 years
It seems like yesterday, but 20 years have passed since the first wind farm in Spain, 20 years of a pioneering commitment to wind, 20 years of real commitment to a better world... It should be stressed that Iberdrola has become a world benchmark in wind energy, with more than 15,000 wind turbines in operation at 415 sites in 14 countries.
Whether in the middle of the sea or on land, wind gives Iberdrola its best energy. In total, it has 20,700 MW in operation and an additional 4,000 MW under construction.
Iberdrola will continue to work towards sustainable and renewable energy for all. Today, more than ever, the company is committed to wind to bring clean energy to all homes.
A new energy landscape that retains population in rural areas
Iberdrola promotes renewable energies as an engine for rural development and in this way the villages emerge as a guarantee for the future, as in the case of the villages of Castile and Leon, which will contribute to a sustainable recovery, allowing the creation of local employment.
