Iberdrola España and the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus of Euskadi Technology Park commit to electric mobility

  • The technology centre in Alava has set up a total of 17 double electric recharging points: one super-fast and another sixteen fast ones, which will enable the simultaneous charging of up to 34 cars.

  • In the four facilities, distributed within the Park, where up to 169 companies are located, employing more than 3,500 people, it will be possible to recharge up to 80% of the battery of the vehicles in less than five minutes.

Iberdrola España has set up a total of 17 double electric recharging points on the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park, which will enable the simultaneous charging of up to 34 cars. The four facilities are distributed in different locations within the Campus, which is home to 169 companies and employs more than 3,500 people and where, from now on, it will be possible to make use of these renewable facilities.

The charging stations have a total power of 450 kW and are equipped with a 180 kilowatt (kW) super-fast dual charger, which will allow up to 80% of the vehicles' battery to be recharged in less than five minutes, and sixteen 22 kW dual fast chargers.

The points where they are located are: Restaurant C/ Hermanos Lumiere, 15; Building E7 C/ Albert Einstein, 46; Building E9 C/ Albert Einstein 35; and Building E8 C/ Marie Curie, 7.

Users of these facilities will charge the battery of their electric cars with 100% green energy, from renewable generation sources, with a guarantee of origin certificate (GdO). The charging points will be located on the Iberdrola Public Charging App

Eduardo Lobato, Iberdrola España's sales representative in the Basque Country, pointed out that "Iberdrola España is making a significant investment in this type of infrastructure to provide coverage for electric vehicle users" and added that "we are also thinking of those users who have to travel to work centres such as this one at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus of the Technology Park. These are innovative facilities, suitable for any type of electric car, which allow the batteries to be charged in very short times and which, together with the network of charging points that the company has in operation in the rest of the country, represent a definitive commitment to the decarbonisation of mobility in our country".

Furthermore, this initiative ties in with the commitment of the Euskadi Technology Park to sustainable mobility.

Iberdrola España has more than 310 public access points in the Basque Country owned by the Basque company for users of this type of car to recharge their batteries and manages a further 97 additional recharging points for public use and shared ownership.

It should be noted that users of these facilities will recharge the battery of their electric cars with 100% green energy, from renewable generation sources, with a guarantee of origin certificate (GdO) and the charging points will be located in the Iberdrola Public Charging App, from which you can geolocate the charger, check its operation in real time and book and pay from your mobile phone.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

Iberdrola España has launched a sustainable mobility plan through which it will intensify the deployment of charging points for electric vehicles in the coming years. The initiative envisages the installation of charging points in homes and businesses, as well as on urban roads, in cities and on major highways in the coming years. The commitment to the deployment of charging stations will take the form of ultra-fast (over 350 kW), super-fast (over 100 kW) and fast (50 kW) stations

The company is aware of the need to promote electromobility in Spain through coordinated and effective action with the main agents involved. In this regard, the company has already completed more than 60 infrastructure deployment agreements with administrations, institutions, companies, service stations, dealers and electric vehicle manufacturers.
