Fundación Iberdrola España publishes the names of the winning entities and projects of the 2024 Social Programme Call for Proposals.External link, opens in new window. In total, 43 organisations and projects have been selected and will receive €1.4 million.
The Foundation aims to contribute to alleviating poverty, inequality and expanding employment and training opportunities for the most vulnerable people. During the implementation of these projects, some 83,000 people will benefit. In addition, it is expected that more than 1,160 people will find work and more than 2,000 people will improve their employability.
The Social Agenda 2024 has prioritised three lines of action. The first of these focuses on child and youth poverty. Initiatives have been selected that promote education as the main tool to mitigate the effects of child poverty and that promote the reduction of school dropout rates, in order to foster employability and improve their social inclusion.
The second line of work focuses on projects to support women. Specifically, it will help women who suffer harassment and gender-based violence to improve their self-esteem and personal or economic autonomy.
The third line addresses social inclusion projects for people with disabilities, seriously ill or under treatment for addictions, with the aim of fostering skills for their cognitive development and enhancing their personal autonomy.
For the selection of projects, the criteria of rigour, transparency and good governance of the participating organisations and their experience in social projects were taken into account. To this end, the organisations had to have their accounts audited for the last few years and their statutes and documentation published on their website. All the selected initiatives can be consulted here.
