Lactalis Nestlé's yoghurt and fresh desserts factory in Marchamalo (Guadalajara) has launched 10 operational chargers this morning – reaching the total number of 44 in the country.
Iberdrola España and Lactalis are strengthening their collaboration to accelerate the decarbonisation of the leading multinational company of dairy products, with the installation of a network of charging points for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. Specifically, Iberdrola España has installed a total of 44 charging points in the 11 Lactalis factories and work centres in six Spanish regions: Galicia, Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha, Madrid, Andalusia and Catalonia.
This morning, the last 10 charging points completing the project were put into service at the Lactalis Nestlé yoghurt and fresh desserts factory – the business unit for this category of Lactalis – in Marchamalo (Guadalajara). The new charging stations, in addition to company vehicles, will also be available to Lactalis employees with private electric or hybrid cars – reinforcing the dairy company's commitment to decarbonisation and care for the natural environment.
Lactalis has made three international commitments on environmental sustainability, linked to key milestones in the production of milk, cheese, yoghurt, cream and butter: progress in animal welfare, decarbonisation of industrial activity towards Zero Emissions by 2050, and promotion of the circular economy and responsible packaging. This action is part of the second of Lactalis' environmental objectives.
Furthermore this agreement for the deployment of charging infrastructure joins the more than 60 alliances that Iberdrola España maintains with administrations, institutions, companies, service stations, dealers and electric vehicle manufacturers to promote electromobility in Spain, as part of its sustainable mobility plan. Iberdrola España offers comprehensive mobility services to cover all the needs of electric vehicle users with an extensive charging infrastructure: residential, business and public charging, including solutions for urban and heavy transport.
This agreement is an example of Iberdrola España's commitment to become a strategic partner of companies and corporations by offering tailor-made clean energy solutions to enable them to meet their climate targets and secure their renewable energy supply.
The company covers all energy services that will help companies reduce their carbon footprint, including bilateral contracts that promote the supply of clean energy at competitive and stable prices for large companies committed to sustainable consumption. These services cover the entire lifecycle of the decarbonisation process – enabling commercial and industrial customers to meet their environmental goals and become key drivers and agents in the energy transition.
In addition to this network of charging points, Iberdrola España and Lactalis are working together on the implementation of self-consumption photovoltaic plants to supply the dairy industry's factories with green electricity.
