Iberdrola España and Hyundai have signed a strategic agreement that will allow both companies to continue to drive the deployment of sustainable mobility in Spain, break down barriers to entry and promote zero-emission mobility − facilitating the transition to electric vehicles (EV).
This collaboration agreement allows both companies to join forces with an offer that simplifies and facilitates the customer's decision to join electric mobility, allowing them to enjoy all the advantages of an electric vehicle from the moment of purchase.
Thus, with every sale of an electric car or plug-in hybrid, Hyundai will include a free Wallbox charging point installed by Iberdrola España at the customer's home, either in a single-family house or in a communal garage.
El cargador, Wallbox Pulsar Plus, tiene una potencia de hasta 7,4kW o 22kW, dependiendo de si la instalación del cliente es monofásica o trifásica, permitiendo cubrir las necesidades de carga del día a día del cliente.
The Wallbox Pulsar Plus charger has a power rating of up to 7.4kW or 22kW, depending on whether the customer's installation is single-phase or three-phase, allowing it to cover the customer's day-to-day charging needs.
Once the charger is installed, customers can access smart management of all their vehicle charges via the Iberdrola España app, where they can control the charges they make at home and those made in the energy company's public network − which is the most extensive in Spain, with 7,000 charging points.
"This agreement between two leading companies in sustainability reflects our commitment to our customers, and therefore to society, to facilitate access to cleaner technologies. We are proud that Iberdrola España, a leading company in the electrification sector, is entering into this agreement with Hyundai, a leading company in the development of sustainable vehicles and the only brand in the market with all five electrified technologies", explains Leopoldo Satrustegui, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor España.
"At Iberdrola España, we are confident that alliances contribute to fight climate change and to commit to decarbonisation. This agreement with Hyundai, a world leader in electrified mobility, will make it easier for customers to integrate the electric car into their homes − the only emission-free solution − and at the same time the most affordable. In addition, thanks to Iberdrola España's public charging app, it is becoming easier and easier to travel around the country with an electric vehicle," stated Iberdrola España’s Head of Smart Mobility Jorge Muñoz Riesco.
Iberdrola España, leader in mobility
With this initiative, Iberdrola España continues to accelerate its mobility transition strategy towards an emission-free system and its sustainable mobility plan. Pioneered in 2016, it plans to install 100,000 electric chargers by 2025 in homes, businesses and on public roads. Its public infrastructure design is being developed on highways and major arteries as well as in cities and small towns with the goal of having at least one fast charging station every 50 km or less.
Hyundai
Hyundai's strategy to achieve decarbonisation of its range is based on three pillars: clean mobility, new generation platforms and green energy. In the latter, which aims to reduce dependence on highly polluting fossil fuels, hydrogen will play a key role. Hyundai has over 20 years of experience in developing and applying this technology in the mobility sector and, precisely from its leadership in this field, is preparing to fully embrace this clean and sustainable energy source, advocating the use of hydrogen not only in the automotive sector, but also in other sectors − promoting a "Hydrogen Society" and seeking to make this energy available to "everyone, everywhere and for everything".
