The Casa Sicilia 1707 winery, located in Novelda, Alicante, Spain has gone a step further towards accessibility, sustainability and respect for the environment with the commissioning of new chargers for electric vehicles and adapted spaces in the winery's car park.
The project, with the collaboration of Iberdrola España and Porsche, is in line with Vectalia group and the winery’s constant commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and promote more sustainable practices. Now you can take a guided tour of the winery, eat in its restaurant or buy local products in the shop while charging your vehicle.
The new charging points have two stations, each with two semi-fast outlets of up to 22 kilowatts (kW) to simultaneously charge up to four electric vehicles. To carry out the agreement, Iberdrola España was in charge of providing the equipment, installation and management, and the Casa Sicilia winery provided the land for the car park where the chargers are located.
The charging points are located in the Iberdrola Public Charging App, from which you can geolocate the charger, check its operation in real time and reserve and pay from your mobile phone.
The new chargers were presented at a ceremony attended by Rubén Millán, councillor for the Environment on Novelda City Council, Joaquín Longares, Iberdrola España’s sales representative in Valencia, and Ezequiel Moltó, director of Communication and Institutional Relations at Vectalia, among others.
With this addition, Casa Sicilia 1707 not only makes it easier for visitors with electric vehicles to visit but also reaffirms its commitment to a more sustainable future. The winery, already renowned for its ecological agricultural practices and its respect for the natural environment, continues to advance in its mission to be more environmentally responsible every day.
It should be noted that the Vectalia group and Iberdrola España have been collaborating for years on projects that promote and boost electromobility, both with the incorporation of electric buses to the urban transport networks, as well as in the car parks managed by Vectalia, where charging points for these zero emission vehicles are also being installed.
A more sustainable winery
The implementation of these electric chargers is just one of the many actions that Casa Sicilia 1707 is carrying out to promote a more sustainable and conscious wine tourism. With each step, the Novelda winery consolidates its sustainability strategy, demonstrating that love for wine can go hand in hand with respect for our planet.
