- The installation is included in the Iberdrola Recarga Pública app and is now equipped with credit/debit card payment terminals.
- The charging infrastructure, located in the Seur company car park, supplies 100% green energy from renewable generation sources.
Iberdrola España has installed a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Las Atalayas industrial estate in Alicante, reaffirming its commitment to promoting sustainable mobility.
The infrastructure is equipped with two 50 kilowatt (kW) fast charging points which have been set up thanks to an agreement between Iberdrola España, which provided the equipment, installation and management, and the company Seur, which provided the land for the car park where the chargers are located.
The general director of Employment, Business Development and New Economy of the Alicante City Council, Vicente Seguí, visited the installation accompanied by Francisco Samper, president of EGM Atalayas Ciudad Empresarial and Juan Carlos del Río, area manager, as well as Antonio López, general director of Seur Levante, and Joaquín Longares, Iberdrola sales rep in the Valencia region, who was able to explain and demonstrate how the charging infrastructure works.
Users of these facilities recharge the battery of their electric cars with 100% green energy, from renewable generation sources, with a guarantee of origin certificate and the charging points are located in the Iberdrola Recarga Pública App, where you can geolocate the charger, check on it in real time and book and pay from your mobile phone.
These points also incorporate as a novelty the possibility of paying by credit/debit card as they are equipped with payment terminals (POS).
Pioneers in sustainable mobility
With more than 7,000 public charging points with a 100% renewable origin guarantee, Iberdrola España's electric mobility network is the largest in Spain. In total, with public and private charging points, the company's network has 45,000 chargers.
The mobility plan launched by the company in 2016 was the first of its kind. Today, its strategy envisages the installation of more than 100,000 charging points by 2025, including charging points for the general public, at homes, at companies and in car parks.
Its public infrastructure design is being deployed on highways and corridors as well as in cities and small towns with the aim of having at least one fast charging station every 50 km or less.
The high-power charging points will be developed and operated by Iberdrola | bp pulse, a 50:50 strategic alliance between the two companies to lead the deployment of fast and ultra-fast public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Spain and Portugal.
