Iberdrola España and Grupo Noticias celebrate the first Hitz Sariak- Premios Palabra (Word Awards) in Bilbao
- Asís Canales, Iberdrola España's representative in the Basque Country and global director of People and Services for the Iberdrola Group, highlighted in his touching speech the Iberdrola Group's philosophy regarding the importance of honesty, transparency and the company's commitment to the community.
The first edition of the Hitz Sariak-Premios Palabra Awards was held on Wednesday 2 October at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, an initiative of Iberdrola España and Grupo Noticias. These awards recognise six people for keeping their word, outstanding figures in disciplines such as music, sport, culture, cuisine and science.
Asís Canales, Iberdrola España's representative in the Basque Country and global director of People and Services for the Iberdrola Group, stressed that "all too often we say that talk is idle, but here, when we speak, when we give our word, we keep it". Canales also recalled that "commitment, honesty and transparency are attributes of people who keep their word and are also the cornerstones of our company".

Award winners included the San Sebastian engineer Hasier Larrea, founder of Ori Living, the chef Bittor Arginzoniz, from Asador Etxebarri, the physicist Pedro Miguel Echenique, the orchestra conductor Inma Shara, and former Athletic Club footballer José Ángel Iribar.
