More than 51,000 people turn Valladolid green in the 13th March against Cancer, organised by Iberdrola España

  • The initiative has the special support of Iberdrola España as the main sponsor for the ninth consecutive year and is part of the agreement between the two entities to work for scientific research and social awareness of the disease.
  • Proceeds from this collaboration will be used to continue financing the research grants out of the Valladolid offices, which this year amount to €600,000.
  • In addition, taking advantage of this charity sporting event, Iberdrola España wanted to recall the Together against Cancer campaign, through which the company offers its customers the opportunity to collaborate with the association, pledging to double the amount they donate monthly through their electricity or gas bill.

corredores llegando a la meta

Iberdrola España and the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) have joined forces once again this year in the largest walk in Spain. Defying the rain, the gardens of El Campo Grande, as a starting point, were dressed in green this Sunday, which every year brings out the most supportive face of the capital of Valladolid.

The 13th Valladolid Walk Against Cancer, which has had the special support of Iberdrola España as its main sponsor for the 9th consecutive year, turned the city's central thoroughfares green, with more than 51,000 participants, exceeding all expectations.

The proceeds from this collaboration, which is part of the agreement between the two organisations to work both on research to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment and on raising awareness about the fight against the disease, will be used to continue financing the research grants given by the Valladolid offices, which this year amount to €600,000.

The president of the Spanish Cancer Association in Valladolid, Artemio Domínguez, the researchers, Dr Nuria Benavent, Dr Adela Cañete, Lucía Álvarez and Juan de la Puente, the mayor of Valladolid, Jesús Julio Carnero, the president of the Valladolid Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar, the Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo, and the Commercial Director of Iberdrola España in Castilla y León, Celiano García, among others, have supported this initiative once again this year.

Taking advantage of this charity sporting event, Iberdrola España wanted to recall one of the most innovative initiatives developed within the framework of this agreement, the Together against Cancer campaign, through which the company offers its customers the possibility of collaborating with the association, pledging to double the amount they donate monthly through their electricity or gas bill.

Iberdrola España and the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) have a long-standing relationship that was consolidated in 2015 with the signing of a cancer research agreement. The continued commitment of the company and its customers has made Iberdrola España the AECC’s main private collaborator.
