More than 300 athletes will take part in the Monfragüe Half Marathon–Iberdrola España Grand Prix in Malpartida de Plasencia
The Malpartida de Plasencia Town Council, with the support of Iberdrola España as the main sponsor, hosted the Monfragüe Half Marathon this weekend along with a series of other activities, which brought together more than three hundred sports and nature lovers on a day of fun for all involved.
In the half marathon, the star event of the day, the classification was led by Andrés Harto Vallejo, who took first place with a time of 01:19:23, followed by Antonio Cordero Esquivel second and Roberto Alonso Camacho third. In the women's category, Begoña Mula Martín won with a time of 01:34:34. Estela García Vicente and Beatriz Alonso Sánchez completed the podium in second and third place, respectively.
José Alan Otero was the winner in the 10k with David Crego González in second place and Juan A. Sánchez Aparicio in third. The women's classification for this distance was led by Aroa González, followed by Lidia de la Calle and Sandra Muriel in second and third place, respectively.
In addition to the half marathon and the 10 k, other activities were held, such as children's races, mountain bike rides and a guided hiking route along the Monfragüe Greenway.

The event attracted participants from numerous locations, highlighting the interest in sport in the region of Extremadura. Athletes from autonomous communities such as Madrid and Castilla y León, from municipalities such as Grijota, Laguna de Duero and Cabezas Altas, also came in to be part of this unique experience.
