Iberdrola España has more than 8,000 operational public charging points
- All Iberdrola points provide 100% green energy, which contributes to decarbonisation and improves air quality.
- The company has commissioned more than 25% of the chargers installed in Spain in 2024.
Iberdrola España has now reached 8,100 public charging points, after commissioning more than 25% of the points installed in 2024 in the country, which reinforces its position as the most extensive public charging network in the country.
In addition to this infrastructure, which is already operational, nearly 4,000 more points are under construction and pending paperwork, and will be available in the coming months.
Of the 8,100 points in operation, 27% are fast, super-fast and ultra-fast charging points, which means that 2,140 of the company's points are capable of recharging 200 km of autonomy in 5 to 40 minutes, so any trip within Spain can be done sustainably. The over 50 kW points are part of the network operated by the Iberdrola | bp pulse alliance.
The company, which has continued to set up 10 charging points every business day this year, thus demonstrates its commitment to electric mobility, the only mobility option that allows for improved air quality and more sustainable spaces.
The Iberdrola España's electric mobility strategy is based on installing recharging points with different power ratings to allow users to select the option that best suits their needs at any given time.
Its charging points of less than 50 kW are located in places where the driver will spend more time, for example in shopping centres or supermarkets, while its aim with fast charging stations is to place one every 50 km or less to enable long-distance journeys.
All the points installed by Iberdrola España provide 100% green energy from renewable sources with a guarantee of origin (GdOS), which helps to combat climate change and achieve a transition to fossil fuel-free model.
Users can access the company's network via the Iberdrola Public Charging App, the most highly rated in the industry, where they can view and geolocate verified information on all chargers, check their operation in real time and reserve and pay from their mobile phones.
Private charging
Iberdrola España's development of electric mobility also extends to the private sector in companies and residential customers, with over 50,000 charging points in its public network.
In the private sector, it offers alternatives for domestic charging, where it stands out for having the most competitive tariff in the industry, at €5 for 1,000 km, and for companies, where it offers turnkey products from design, installation, maintenance and management of the charging point.
Pioneers in sustainable mobility
The mobility plan, launched by the company in 2016, was pioneering in its implementation. Today, its strategy envisages the installation of more than 100,000 charging points by 2025, including public, residential, company and car park charging points.
The high-power charging points have been developed and operated since last year by Iberdrola | bp pulse, a 50:50 strategic partnership between the two companies to lead the deployment of fast and ultra-fast public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Spain and Portugal.
