The Iberdrola Group's tax contribution in the Basque Country increased 15% to 800 million euros

  • The internationalization of the company has had a direct impact on Basque suppliers over the last 20 years, with annual purchases exceeding 3,300 million euros. More than 90% to companies in Bizkaia.

The Chairman of the Iberdrola Group, Ignacio Galán, today held a meeting with the Deputy General of Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe, at Torre Iberdrola Bilbao, the company's headquarters. The meeting is part of the regular meetings of the Chairman of the company with the authorities of the Basque institutions. 

During the meeting, Ignacio Galán conveyed to the Deputy General of Bizkaia the company's firm commitment to the Basque Country. The fiscal contribution of the Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España forms part, in 2024 has grown by 15% to close to 800 million euros, 90% of which is in Bizkaia.

The Iberdrola Group is one of the driving forces of the economy of the Basque Country, with an impact on its GDP of 3,500 million euros in investments, purchases, salaries and tax contributions. The company supports a total of 30,000 jobs in the Basque Country.
