Iberdrola Group begins its round of meetings with shareholders in Valencia

  • The company will hold several events and corporate meetings in Valencia to support the recovery of the province after the severe weather event

The Iberdrola Group, of which Iberdrola España forms part, today began a round of meetings in Valencia with its minority shareholders in Spain. The electricity company chaired by Ignacio Galán will hold meetings with company executives over the coming months to bring the company closer to investors.

The mission of this initiative is to promote a permanent, fluid and close dialogue with shareholders, who are at the centre of the Iberdrola Group's strategy. In addition, the company wants to support the recovery of the province after the cold drop by holding a number of corporate events and meetings.

The first meeting, held today at the company's offices in Valencia, dealt with the measures that Iberdrola is rolling out in the area affected by the storm on 29 October.

Eva Mancera, CEO of i-DE, the Iberdrola group’s distribution company, and Guillermo Raga, director of i-DE in the Eastern Region, explained to more than fifty Valencian shareholders the il.lumina plan, in which Iberdrola is going to invest €100 M to redesign the electricity grid damaged by the severe weather event.

The company has now created a team of 35 people who are dedicated exclusively to the il.lumina project, which is divided into five operational areas under the same management and has seven support areas to coordinate the work of the approximately 1,000 contractors that will be needed, most of whom will be locally based.

Later on, the company will hold more meetings with a focus on different business areas, which will be attended by top-level executives.
