Anselmo León, an Iberdrola España distribution company, donates substation components to the University of Burgos for teaching purposes
- In this way, the Iberdrola Group distribution company supports education, technology transfer and the universalisation of energy services
- Thanks to the drive and effort of Professor Jesús Sagredo González, it is now a reality that these interesting teams are located in the academic institution of Burgos

Anselmo León Distribución, S.L., an Iberdrola España distribution company, has given medium-voltage switchgear and substation control panels to the University of Burgos for teaching purposes, supporting education, technology transfer and the universalisation of energy services.
Air-insulated metallic medium-voltage switchgear is an essential component in electrical power distribution. It is used to protect, control and isolate electrical circuits in substations and transformer stations.
The electrical substation control panel is essential for the safe management and operation of these electrical infrastructures. Its function is to continuously supervise electrical parameters such as voltage, current and frequency and real-time monitoring, sending alerts in the event of anomalies or issues, enabling rapid responses.
Direct training with real equipment is very beneficial: increased technical knowledge about installation, operation and maintenance; improved safety at work by ensuring that students have received good training on risks and preventive measures; and proper handling of medium-voltage switchgear also contributes to the power system’s efficiency and reliability.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of Professor Jesús Sagredo González at the University of Burgos, this worthwhile equipment from Iberdrola's distribution company is now at the academic institution in Burgos to help better train students of the Electronic Engineering degree and the Master's in Industrial Engineering, in the "High Voltage Installations and Electrical Power Systems" class.
