Iberdrola Spain promotes summer micro-cinema festival to boost cultural offerings in rural areas in different Spanish municipalities

The municipalities of Villayón (Asturias), Vilariño de Conso (Ourense), Muelas del Pan (Zamora), Alcolea de Tajo (Toledo), Usagre (Badajoz) and Sierra de Yeguas (Málaga) will host the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturally, in our village", organized by the platform to fight against depopulation ‘Vente a Vivir a un Pueblo’ and Iberdrola Spain.
This initiative seeks to highlight the quality of life in the small towns of our country, as opposed to the large macro-events organized in other places. The festival showcases a selection of micro-cinema audiovisual productions, each less than one minute long, which were awarded in various competitions on sustainability organized by Cultura Inquieta.
For its part, Iberdrola España collaborates in this cultural action given its historical link to the rural world, where it has its roots and where it is currently developing important renewable energy projects that drive growth and employment, helping to prevent depopulation.
Microcinema in summer
Villayón (Asturias)
On 30 July, the opening of the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturally, in our village" was held in the Asturian municipality of Villayón. The event took place in the courtyard of the Villayón sports centre and was attended by more than 200 people, including local residents and holidaymakers from the area, who were treated to popcorn and refreshments, as befits a good film session.
For its part, Iberdrola España is developing important renewable energy projects that boost growth and employment, helping to prevent depopulation. The company's economic impact in the Principality amounted to 300 million euros last year, with a total of 233 million euros spent on purchases from suppliers in the region, a 42% increase. The company has four wind farms in Asturias, a region where, together with Exiom, it will build a photovoltaic solar panel factory in Langreo.
Vilariño de Conso (Ourense)
On 31 July, the Ourense municipality of Villariño de Conso hosted the second date of the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturally, in our village". In a session where they were invited to popcorn and refreshments, more than 200 people participated between neighbours and tourists. The screening was held in the Praza da Vila de Villariño de Conso.
Iberdrola Spain continues with its objective of developing the rural world. In the case of Galicia, the company had an economic impact of more than 360 million euros last year, with a fiscal contribution of 137 million euros in the region. In addition, Iberdrola España made purchases from a total of 220 Galician suppliers.
Muelas del Pan (Zamora)
On August 1st, the micro-cinema festival "Naturalmente, en nuestro pueblo", passed through Muelas del Pan, in Zamora. At the session, invited with popcorn and refreshments, as befits a good film session, 200 people attended, including local residents and holidaymakers from the area. The event took place in the town hall square in Muelas del Pan.
Iberdrola España continues its commitment to rural areas and their development. To this end, the company plans to invest more than 80 million euros in the province, as well as having 17 facilities in Zamora and contributing more than 13 million euros per year in taxation in the region.
Alcolea de Tajo (Toledo)
On 2 August, the micro-cinema festival "Naturalmente, en nuestro pueblo" came to Alcolea de Tajo (Toledo). The session was attended by about 200 people, including locals and holidaymakers, who were treated to popcorn and refreshments as if it were a real cinema. It all took place in the Town Hall Square of Alcolea de Tajo.
Iberdrola España continues to be very committed to supporting the rural world. In Castilla La-Mancha, the company has 3,500 megawatts of installed capacity, 2,480 of which are renewable. In Toledo alone, the company has 288 MW distributed between hydroelectric facilities, solar plants and wind farms.

Usagre (Badajoz)
During the night of the 3rd of August, the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturalmente, en nuestro pueblo" was held in Usagre, Badajoz. More than 200 people gathered between neighbours and holidaymakers in the Plaza de la Ermita de la Virgen de la Cruz, with popcorn and drinks included to complete a full cinema experience.
Iberdrola España remains committed to the rural world and to this end the company continues to invest. In Extremadura, the company has multiple installations with up to 4,100 MW of renewable energy, including both hydroelectric and solar installations as well as the use of batteries.
Sierra de Yeguas (Málaga)
During the night of 21st August, Sierra de Yeguas, in Malaga, hosted the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturalmente, en nuestro pueblo". The event was held in the Town Hall Square of Sierra de Yeguas and was attended by more than 200 people, including locals and holidaymakers.
Iberdrola Spain is committed to the rural world and this is demonstrated by the 1000 MW of renewable innovations in Andalusia right now. The Puntal II wind farm is located in the same municipality and has one of the largest and most powerful wind turbines in Spain, supplying renewable energy to around 12,500 homes.
Valverdejo (Cuenca)
On 23 August, Valdervejo (Cuenca) hosted the summer micro-cinema festival "Naturalmente, en nuestro pueblo". The event was held in the Plaza Gabaldón and was attended by hundreds of locals and holidaymakers, who were treated to popcorn and refreshments with a performance by the local charanga (brass band) before the start.
Iberdrola España attaches great importance to the rural world and its survival. That is why there are currently 826 MW of energy within the province, divided between wind farms, solar plants and hydroelectric power stations. In total, in Castilla La-Mancha, the installed capacity is 3,500 megawatts.
